Rear Suspension

The CRF250R’s frame design lets us fit a special rear shock. We optimized its shape to match the frame, and gave it special revised settings for 2023 to improve handling and ride. The shocks valving resets fast for better response.

Hydraulic Clutch

Hydraulic Clutch

The CRF250R features the first hydraulically actuated dirtbike clutch we’ve offered outside of our works bikes. You get a clutch-lever pull that’s ten percent lighter at its peak, even though it’s paired with an eight-plate clutch.

New Suspension Mounting Points

More robust suspension mounting points this year enhance chassis and suspension stability. When the suspension works better, the chassis works better, and you get better drive and handling everywhere.

DOHC engine layout

Engineered for victory

DOHC engine layout

With a unique finger-follower rocker design, the DOHC engine maximizes power and raises the redline, resulting in superior performance.

Engineered for victory

Higher-capacity radiator

It boasts a six percent larger radiator area compared to its predecessor, providing the ample cooling capacity needed to sustain the updated engine's higher power output.

Engineered for victory

High-volume airbox and air cleaner

The air-cleaner element features an increased surface area and volume and a significantly larger airbox capacity, resulting in improved midrange power. Additionally, we've made air filter servicing easier for added convenience.

Engineered for victory

Gear-position engine mapping

The smart ECU delivers tailored engine mapping for each gear, giving riders the edge with optimal power in every gear choice.

Winner's circle is calling

Fuel injection system

Fuel injection system

The 60-degree angled fuel injector delivers a cooler and denser fuel charge, providing increased power and torque. It's these meticulous details that put this bike ahead of the competition.

Big bore/short stroke

Big bore/short stroke

With a 79.0mm bore and short 50.9mm stroke, our engineers designed a high-revving engine with ample space for large valves, the core elements of power in motocross.

Titanium intake and exhaust valves

Titanium intake and exhaust valves

High-revving engines benefit from lightweight components, such as titanium valves with a 20.5-degree angle and ovalized valve springs with finger rockers that are treated with Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) for durability.

Showa® spring fork

Showa® spring fork

The bike has a 49mm Showa® fork with a conventional spring, 39mm piston diameter, and 25mm rod diameter, improving precision, handling, and feel.

Rear suspension

Rear suspension

The bike features Pro-Link® rear suspension, offering 12.3 inches of travel and a lightweight spring for a plush and controlled ride.

Superior frame rigidity

Superior frame rigidity

A superior frame is essential for great handling. The lightweight chassis, achieved by narrow spars, enhances lateral rigidity, making the bike more responsive. This results in faster cornering and an exciting ride.

260mm front brake

260mm front brake

The front brake disc measures 260mm, providing excellent brake feel and weight reduction. Front and rear brake-disc guards are included.

Short swingarm

Short swingarm

The short swingarm helps make it light and also gives the bike better rear-wheel traction. It reduces unsprung mass, which is important considering how much power you have on tap.

Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tires

Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tires

With the Pirelli Scorpion MX32 tires front and rear, you'll experience optimal grip and feedback across various track surfaces and conditions.

HRC launch control

HRC launch control

This ECU program lets you select a mode, hold the throttle open, and release the clutch. Your bike then takes control and launches you ahead, turning it into a holeshot-seeking machine!

Engine mode select button

Engine mode select button

This handlebar-mounted button allows you to adjust the character of engine power delivery with your thumb. Choose Standard, Smooth, and Aggressive to suit track conditions or rider preference.

Black rims

Black rims

The DID DirtStar rims are lightweight and strong, and the black color sure look good.

Superior frame rigidty

Great handling starts with a superior frame. First, it’s light. By making the frame’s main spars narrow, we save weight, but more importantly we make the chassis more responsive by fine-tuning the lateral rigidity. The result is a bike that gets into, around, and out of corners faster.
