FOX Live Valve 2.5 shocks

The 1000R FOX Live Valve model features a cutting-edge semi-active FOX suspension system that dynamically adjusts compression damping for each wheel. This system offers reduced body roll, smoother terrain navigation, and superior resistance to bottoming.

Unicam® cylinder head design

The 999cc engine has a compact design thanks to the Unicam^® cylinder head from our championship-winning CRF450R motocrosser, resulting in optimal weight distribution and ground clearance.

Independent front suspension

Dual A-arm suspension gives you 17.6 inches of front travel. Pair that with stellar ground clearance, and you understand why the SxS handles so well and is so comfortable in rough terrain.

4+ link rear suspension

Honda's 4+ link rear suspension provides superior handling by maintaining wheel geometry even with 20.1 inches of travel. This ensures that the rear wheels' toe changes only slightly throughout the entire stroke, improving chassis stability under extreme suspension deflection.

High-performance brakes

The SxS has high-performance brakes with 250mm discs and 34mm twin-piston calipers at the front, and 34mm single-piston calipers at the back. Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) optimizes braking power under dynamic conditions in two-wheel drive.

Shorter wheelbase

The 90.0-inch wheelbase offers a more responsive drive and a shorter turning radius than the previous model. It's still slightly longer than the Talon 1000X's and provides excellent high-speed tracking, control, and a smooth ride in rough terrains.

i-4WD

All Talons showcase the second generation of our exclusive i-4WD system. Think “i” for “intelligent” because that’s exactly what it is. An industry-first brake-traction control system that maintains front-wheel traction even if one wheel wants to spin

Paddle shifting

Steering column-mounted paddle shifters add performance and fun. In Manual mode, they let you shift without taking your hands off the steering wheel; in Automatic mode, they let you override the current gear.

Driver/passenger protection

The vehicle's Occupant Protection Structure meets ISO’s rollover protection standard with large-diameter tubing. Standard hard doors and quick-clip side nets keep debris out of the cabin. Auto-style three-point seatbelts optimize passenger security with emergency locking retractors.

Easy-to-read LCD instruments

All Talon models have a large, clear LCD instrument display showing speed, fuel, engine rpm, and more. The display is mounted on the steering column and moves with the wheel.
