Improved aerodynamics make it easier for the rider to tuck in while also reducing the width by over 24 mm at the tank/seat junction and upper cowl compared to the previous generation. Aero-wings on either side of the upper fairings are designed to reduce front-end lift during hard acceleration.

A notable advancement from Honda's MotoGP program, the Double-R features throttle-by-wire, which integrates with the Honda Selectable Torque Control system to offer three engine power-delivery modes, two of which are fully customizable.
