Available on select Pioneer models, our Automatic DCT takes care of the shifting so you don’t have to.
The Pioneer 1000-5 Limited Edition showcases our exclusive i-4WD system. Think “I” for “Intelligent,” because that’s exactly what it is. An industry-first brake-traction control system for side-by-sides, it simplifies operation, increases drivability and optimizes traction. Using proven, advanced technology from Honda’s automotive division, you get the benefits associated with a locked front differential with none of the downsides. That means it maintains front-wheel traction even if one wheel wants to spin on ice or mud or if it’s in a hole. But at the same time, you get the lighter steering, better tracking at high speeds, tighter turning radius, and reduced kickback associated with unlocked front differentials.
When you know the power you need is always at the ready, every drive is an enjoyable experience. And that’s precisely what you get out of the class-leading 999cc liquid-cooled inline twin. Using the same Unicam® cylinder head design found in our motocross bikes, it’s more compact in size, and it still delivers the kind of horsepower and torque you’d expect from a flagship model.
Prepare to go further than ever before. Our refined chassis enables you to tackle terrain others would shy away from, with larger tires, long-travel independent front and rear suspension and huge ground clearance. The rubber mounted engine and exhaust system insulates against excessive vibration and the self-leveling rear suspension compensation for changing loads. Plus, the Pioneer 1000-5 Limited Edition gets premium, quick-adjust FOX QS-3 shocks on all four corners.
Want to bring an extra one or two passengers along for the ride? Two QuickFlip® seats pop up from the cargo bed on Pioneer 1000-5 models, giving you the extra seating you need, when you need it. Exclusive to Honda, it’s a smarter system than fixed seat, multi-row models, giving you better maneuverability on the trails.
Talk about a win/win deal: This year we’re offering a Special Edition version of the Pioneer 1000-5 that’s fully outfitted from the factory with a winch, front bumper, windscreen, LED light bar, special TrueTimber Viper Urban Camo graphics, and more. And when it comes to outfitting yourself, check out our matching line of Honda/TrueTimber apparel. The Pioneer 1000-5 Special Edition offers great accessories and great look, along with a great value.SEE THE APPAREL

Our Automatic DCT is a breakthrough technology that makes your Pioneer more versatile and fun.
Together with Honda’s i-4WD, DCT delivers smooth power, true compression braking and optimal traction, giving you better control.
Smooth power delivery means you can motor up and over large rocks at speeds that let you plan your next move.
This is tough, reliable Honda technology at its best, proven for years in hundreds of thousands of vehicles.
Choose between shifting modes like Drive, Sport and Manual. Whether you’re rolling down a flat gravel road, rock crawling, or dialing it up for a sportier ride, you’ll find one that’s right.
Intelligent power delivery helps keep the driving wheels from breaking loose, offering a smooth, continuous flow of power without the shifting interruptions that can cause momentary traction loss in rocky or muddy conditions.
Engine compression braking is key to control, especially when entering turns or on technical downhills. Since DCT has manual-type gearbox internals and not some add-on system, you get genuine compression braking—and control.
By constantly monitoring power delivery to the drive wheels, you get the most of all available traction. Predictable, smooth power comes in handy in areas where traction is at a premium.
Because our DCT is so efficient, more power gets to the ground. Plus, there are no belts to slip, break, or burn up.
Choose Manual Mode, and you can override the automatic shifting on the fly with a pair of paddle shifters mounted right on the steering column.
