Honda may be a giant in the world of two-wheeled enthusiasts, with a legacy deeply rooted in innovation and reliability. Still, they are also known for their rider-first design philosophy, which creates powersports machines that go beyond traditional mass mobility. And the miniMOTO lineup perfectly exemplifies this, showcasing Honda's commitment to fun on two wheels. It combines tradition, playful design, and technological refinement to create miniature marvels that continue to delight riders worldwide.

The modern classic

At the heart of Honda's miniMOTO lineup lives the Grom, a bike that has redefined urban mobility since its inception. Born from the ethos of fun and accessibility, the Grom, also known as the MSX125, began its story in 2014 and rapidly ascended to cult status. Its compact and lightweight frame houses a robust and reliable 125cc single-cylinder air-cooled four-stroke engine, engineered to weave through the urban landscape with agility and zest.

The Honda Grom won MotorcycleUSA.com’s Motorcycle of the Year award in its debut year. Since then, Honda has focused on improving its performance, with major updates in 2017 and 2021. The Grom's ability to be customized and express the rider's personality has remained constant throughout its evolution, making it popular among riders and a fundamental principle of Honda's design philosophy.

The retro Rebel

Honda's Monkey is a motorbike with an interesting history that dates back to the 1960s. Initially designed as a children’s amusement park ride in Japan, it also gained immense popularity among adults. In response, Honda launched the production of the Monkey in 1964 and sold over 50,000 units in Japan within its first year. It was followed by a European release in 1967 and the U.S. in 1968. Also known as the Z50, the original Monkey had an 8-inch wheel and a 50cc engine, and was produced in some form for 60 years until 2017.

In 2018, the Honda Monkey name was revived as a 125cc model, paying homage to the original version with its retro design, chubby tires, chrome finishes, and distinctive style. The Monkey has been updated for 2023 with a five-speed transmission and Anti-Lock Braking System. It shares the same modern 125cc engine and inverted front suspension as the Grom. Furthermore, the Monkey is more than just a motorbike; it represents Honda's inventive spirit and love of fun.

The adventurer's companion

The Trail125, or CT125, is a motorcycle designed for both mild off-road and urban environments. Paying tribute to the CT series of the past, it's versatile and can handle gravel paths and city streets. The Trail125 was released in America for the 2021 model year and updated for 2023. It features front-wheel ABS, a tried-and-tested 124cc fuel-injected engine, and Honda's famous no-clutch semi-automatic transmission.

It also features a high-mounted air intake and exhaust, a protective skid plate, tires suitable for various terrains, and a frame with a low step-over height. Additionally, it has an integral luggage rack. The Trail125 embodies Honda's philosophy of creating motorcycles that serve the rider, providing a dependable, durable, and full-of-character tool for exploration.

The comeback classic

A beloved classic that made its triumphant return to the miniMOTO lineup in 2024. the Dax was riginally introduced in the late 1960s as the ST series. It became an instant favorite for its fun-loving character, compact design, and easy-to-ride nature. Named after its distinctive "T-bone" frame that resembles a dachshund, the Dax blends retro charm with modern performance, making it a standout choice for riders seeking both nostalgia and practicality.

Powering the new Dax 125 is the same reliable 124cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine found in the Grom and Monkey, paired with a semi-automatic transmission for smooth and effortless shifting. This user-friendly setup makes the Dax an ideal choice for new riders, while its timeless styling and compact size make it a head-turner for seasoned enthusiasts.

With its comfortable low seat height, wide handlebars, and robust frame, the Dax is perfect for cruising city streets or taking scenic backroads at a relaxed pace. Whether you're reliving past memories or making new ones, the Honda Dax captures the essence of miniMOTO fun with a blend of heritage and innovation.

The urban explorer

Honda's Navi is the newest member of the miniMOTO family, designed for urban exploration. First introduced in 2022, it combines the convenience of a scooter with the spirit of a motorcycle, making for a fun-to-ride, highly economical, and ultra-accessible option. Its unconventional design sets it apart from other models, making it ideal for newcomers and experienced riders who want a lightweight and maneuverable ride for city travel.

A modest yet spirited 110cc engine powers the Navi, making it easy to operate with a simple twist-and-go mechanism. Its unique styling and compact dimensions cater to a younger demographic or anyone who is young at heart, seeking a distinctive, practical, and enjoyable mode of transportation.
