How Pro Honda Oils are created
A request for new oil
All Pro Honda Powersports Oils are born from a request by Honda Powersports R&D to their companion office at Idemitsu Lubricants.
Formulated to exacting specifications
Idemitsu begins each new product development with an ultrahigh-quality base oil. Engineers adjust this base with anti-foam and anti-wear agents, corrosion inhibitors, friction modifiers, and anything else needed to maximize the oil’s properties for use with a particular engine.
Extensive lab testing
The new formula undergoes extensive clinical trials. These trials inform further refinement as the formula is adjusted, improved, and tested again until it’s deemed suitable for field tests.
Comprehensive Honda bench and field testing
Honda Powersports R&D now subjects the prototype formula to comprehensive field testing in the appropriate motorcycle, ATV, SxS, or scooter.
