It winds through amazing twists and turns just south of Mt. Rainier, before continuing east along Highway 12 toward Rimrock Lake, where the road hugs the northern coast before following the Tieton River, and moving on southeastward into Yakima.

NORTH CAROLINA

FROM ASHEVILLE TO GATLINBURG LOOP

A truly epic ride, this loop begins in Asheville, NC, and heads south along the famous Blue Ridge Parkway, right into Nantahala National Forest. It then picks up Highway 441, following the Oconaluftee River before crossing into Tennessee through Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and on toward Gatlinburg. After bearing east on the 321, it picks up the 32, winds along to Highway 40, follows Pigeon River and Waterville Lake, before meandering back into Asheville.

ARKANSAS

THE OZARK NATIONAL FOREST LOOP

If Arkansas isn’t on your motorcycle-riding radar, you’re missing out. This loop starts in the small town of Clarksville (population 9,000), and shoots northward into the Ozark National Forest. Stunning scenery is in store as you make your way through towns like Sand Gap and Mt. Judea, along the Arkansas Grand Canyon, and into Mt. Sherman. The route then works its way south through Pettigrew and Arbaugh, before delivering you back into Clarksville.

TEXAS

AUSTIN BBQ & THE HILL COUNTRY LOOP

Beginning in downtown Austin, this loop heads northwest along a fantastic road hugging the Lake Travis shoreline. It then continues into the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Park, before passing Buchanan Lake on the way to Llano, where you can grab lunch at Cooper’s Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que. Not hungry yet? Then turn southeast along 71 and make a detour onto Cypress Mill Road into Spicewood, where there’s another great lunch spot: Opie’s BBQ. From here you’ll head back into Austin, through Barton Creek and into the trendy South Congress neighborhood.

THE EUREKA LOOP, DAY 1

This route has some of the best scenery and roads that Northern California has to offer. Starting out in the funky town of Eureka, it plunges east into the Shasta-Trinity National Forest along some amazing pieces of tarmac before heading north along Trinity Lake. Mile after mile of breathtaking views are in store as you make your way south toward Mount Shasta. Here, you’ll find plenty of places to lodge for the night, and plenty of character in this little town with a history going all the way back to the early 1820s.
