Honda’s unique Pro Arm® Rear Swingarm is a functional and stylish departure from a conventional fork-type rear swingarm. Developed from Honda’s championship-winning racing experience, the single-sided cast-aluminum Pro Arm offers balanced rigidity, light weight, simple rear-wheel removal and easy chain adjustability. Other benefits include added room for exhaust routing, easy shock access and minimal unsprung weight.

Some of the most notable current Honda motorcycles that employ this swingarm include the Gold Wing®, Gold Wing F6B and VFR1200F—proof that this design easily transcends market segmentation as it moves from touring to sport touring plus power-cruiser duty. All three machines also incorporate Honda’s Pro-Link® single-shock design into the rear suspension, which utilizes a progressive linkage system to connect the single spring/damper unit to the swingarm. As a result, initial travel rates are soft for supple suspension action over small bumps and ripples, while increasingly stiffer rates resist bottoming and maintain rear-wheel control over rougher road surfaces.

Overall, the Pro Arm/Pro-Link rear suspension combination yields excellent rear wheel control along with enhanced ride compliance.
