For round 16 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, the Honda Red Riders head to Salt Lake City, UT, to do battle this Saturday. Home to the University of Utah Utes, the Rice-Eccles Stadium held its first Supercross race on April 28, 2001, making this the ninth time the gate will drop for both the 450 and 250 Supercross classes. Team Honda Muscle Milk’s Trey Canard has seen success here before, earning a dramatic win in 2009 aboard his Honda CRF250R. Teammate Justin Barcia had a stellar weekend in Seattle, and is ready to repeat this weekend. After nailing down the holeshot, Barcia lead wire-to-wire the entire 20 laps to grab his second 450 victory in his rookie season.

“We had press day here in Salt Lake City so we actually got to ride a portion of the track on Thursday,” stated Canard. “It was a little dry but that's better than it being covered in water or snow, which has happened in the past. The weather is supposed to be awesome this weekend so the track will stay nice and there should be a good turnout in the pits. I won here in 2009, so that's a pretty special memory for me.”
