This Saturday, round eight of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship series will take place at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA, and Honda Red Riders are ready for battle. The first 450 Supercross race was held in 1977, making this the 35th time the gate will drop. American Honda has clinched a total of 10 wins in the 450 class, and seven in the 250 class. This weekend also marks the second race of the Eastern Regional 250SX class circuit.
Team Honda Muscle Milk’s Justin Barcia and Trey Canard had to overcome some adversity in Arlington, but were both able to finish respectably in the top-10. Canard currently sits fourth in the championship, and Barcia in sixth. Muscle Milk supported GEICO Honda’s Wil Hahn started his season strong, making his first podium appearance with a third-place finish in the 250 Supercross class.
“The Georgia Dome is always packed full of fans and the pits get pretty crazy since everything is inside,” explained Barcia. “I guess you could say Atlanta is my home race because I only live a few hours away, so it is a really fun race for me. The dirt is red clay, which can get pretty rutted, and the track is normally pretty technical so you really need to stay focused.”
