Honda Red Riders head east to Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX for round seven of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship series. The first 450 Supercross race held in the Dallas/Fort-Worth market was in 1975, making this the 33rd time the gate will drop. Honda currently holds the record for most 450 Supercross wins over any other manufacturer with 13; can another victory be added to the list this weekend?
Team Honda Muscle Milk’s Trey Canard put together another remarkable come-from-behind ride in San Diego, and is currently tied for third in the championship. Teammate Justin Barcia made his third podium appearance of the season with a second-place finish, moving him up to sixth in the championship. Cowboys Stadium will also showcase round one of the Eastern Regional 250 Supercross class with GEICO Honda’s Wil Hahn and Zach Bell taking the stage.
“I am really happy to be on the East coast rounds now,” stated Barcia. “I have won two East 250 Supercross class championships, so I know the tracks and the conditions which I believe will favor my riding style. The atmosphere in Texas is awesome; the stadium is huge and everyone is so hyped. The track is always pretty tough because it is hard packed and slippery, so to do well you need to focus on throttle control. Since I won there last year I am really excited for this weekend.”
