San Diego’s Qualcomm stadium will host round six of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship series this Saturday, with Honda Red Riders in a highly competitive battle for the title. Team Honda Muscle Milk’s Trey Canard sits third in the championship chase with one point separating him from second. Following two challenging weekends in a row, Justin Barcia rebounded to finish third in Anaheim moving him to seventh overall. This weekend is the last time the 2013 series will stop in California, as well as the final appearance of the Western Regional 250 Supercross Class before its midseason break.
No single rider has had as much success at Qualcomm stadium as TwoTwo Motorsports’ Chad Reed, winning six of the last ten 450 Supercross races. “I have the best memories from San Diego,” stated Reed. “Every time I have been there in the premier class, I’ve been on the podium. The atmosphere, dirt and stadium have a very special feel to me. When you go to a stadium that has worked for you in the past, everything feels good all day so I am definitely looking forward to this weekend.”
