Labor Day weekend marks the traditional Steel City national on Saturday, September 1. This is the last east coast round of the 2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing. Since the first national was showcased in Delmont, PA in 1988, American Honda has clinched a total of nine wins. Kevin Windham and Trey Canard both grabbed the top spot on the podium in 2010.
According to Team Honda Muscle Milk manager Erik Kehoe, “The Steel City track tends to get pretty hard packed, similar to High Point, and it is also really fast. It has a slight uphill start and in the center of the track there is a rhythm section with some big jumps. There are no specific changes made to the bike except possibly a few suspension settings depending on rider preference.”
