Frequently Asked Questions

Honda Protection Plans

  • What does HondaCare cover?

The original Distributor's Limited Warranty and HondaCare are virtually the same. The plan covers problems that arise due to defects in material or factory workmanship. Regular required maintenance or replacement of expendable maintenance items are not covered. The only exclusions are batteries, audio equipment, accessories and tires.

  • If I make modifications to my vehicle will it still be covered?

HondaCare does not cover problems that are caused by modifications, unauthorized alteration, or the incorporation or use of unsuitable attachments or parts.

  • Is my vehicle eligible for HondaCare?

All new Honda Motorcycles*, Scooters, ATVs and PWCs that are offered with a Distributor's Limited Warranty are eligible for HondaCare, provided the vehicle is still within the warranty period. Vehicles used in any of the following activities will void coverage: Racing, competition or rental.

    * Racing and competition models are not eligible for HondaCare Protection.

    HondaCare benefits include:
    * Nationwide coverage at any authorized Honda Dealer

Personal Watercraft are not eligible for Pre-Owned Plans.

  • Is HondaCare valid at any authorized Honda dealer?

  • I am planning to take my unit outside of the United States. Is my HondaCare still valid?

HondaCare is only valid in the United States (including Hawaii & Alaska).   However if you should be traveling in Canada and experience a breakdown, you should repair the vehicle and retain your receipts. Upon return to the U. S. check with American Honda to see if you are entitled to reimbursement.

  • Is Roadside Assistance available from Honda?
