Muddy Creek Raceway played host to the Tennessee National for round five of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship series and the Honda Red Riders landed on the podium in both the 450 and 250 classes. Muscle Milk-backed GEICO Honda's Eli Tomac returned to battle this weekend, making his 450 Motocross debut with an impressive third-place overall finish, while Team Honda Muscle Milk's Trey Canard landed just shy of the podium in fourth with a pair of fourth-place finishes. In 250 competition, Muscle Milk-backed GEICO Honda's Justin Bogle scored a spot on the podium with 4-2 marks.

450 Race
Canard blasted off the line to a third-place start in moto one, moving into second on the following lap. On lap seven he fell back to fourth, which is where he ultimately finished. In moto two, Canard grabbed a seventh-place start and quickly worked his way into fourth by the completion of the opening lap. He maintained his position throughout the 18-lap race, taking the checkered and fourth overall for the day with his 4-4 marks.

"I'm really disappointed with how today went," said Canard. "I got a really good start in the first moto and was running second behind Eli (Tomac) but got really tight, started making mistakes and wasn't able to maintain it. We made some changes before the second moto but I still wasn't very comfortable. I got a seventh-place start and worked up to fourth, which is where I finished. We are leaving safe and salvaged points so that is good, but I really want that win."

Tomac made his highly anticipated return to the series after missing the opening rounds due to injury, and he did so in dramatic fashion. In the morning's timed qualifying practice, he scored the Oakley bomb award by recording the fastest lap time of the field. He carried this momentum into the opening moto by launching his CRF450R off the line to the holeshot. He led the pack for the first half of the race before relinquishing two spots, taking the checkered in third. During the second race of the day, Tomac grabbed another good start, quickly moved into third and finished the day with a third overall.

250 Race
Bogle landed his CRF250R on the podium for the second time this season with a third overall. In moto one, he scored a fourth-place finish, followed by a second in moto two. His overall results moved him up to third place in the title chase.

"To get up on the podium this week was a good step in the right direction but I'm still hungry for more," said Bogle. "The next goal is definitely getting a moto win and going from there. We're making progress and getting closer and I'm feeling better. I think my fitness is my strong point right now. If we could make it through the intense humidity we had today, we should be pretty good for the rest of the season. I definitely felt good fitness wise."

Teammate Zach Bell had a trying day, after an early crash in qualifying he finished 16th overall in Blountville with 38-12 scores.

The Focus: Atlas Motorsports Dealer Appearance

Hundreds of fans were on hand Friday night at Bristol, Tennessee's Atlas Motorsports to meet their favorite riders prior to round five at Muddy Creek Raceway the following day. Team Honda Muscle Milk's Trey Canard was present, along with GEICO Honda's Eli Tomac, Justin Bogle, Zach Bell and local hero Zach Osborne. Although sidelined from an injury sustained at the season opener, Osborne enjoyed the limelight as friends, family and fans from the local area came to support him.

"It is really great to have all the riders here for this event," said Atlas Motorsports Manager, Dwayne Leonard. "This is the second year we have held an autograph signing and it has been such a success both times thanks to the support of the riders and manufacturers. It is especially great to have a local rider like Zach Osborne, who we have watched grow up racing, here signing autographs for fans."
