INITIAL SAFETY RECALL NOTICE

Dear ARX1200 Owner:

What is the reason for this notice?
Parts are now available to conduct an important SAFETY RECALL involving the fuel tank on your Honda ARX1200  PWC.

What is the problem?
Honda has determined that, over time, the fuel tank on your ARX1200 can crack and leak fuel after having been exposed to chemicals commonly found in many aerosol sprays used by ARX owners and dealers to clean the engine  and prevent oxidation of metal parts. Even a small amount of chemical exposure can lead to cracking over time. If  fuel leaks into the hull it poses a risk of fire and explosion in which the operator and passengers could be seriously  injured or killed.

What should you do?
Honda has developed an improved fuel tank and mounting system that is now available to conduct the necessary recall repairs. Please contact your Honda AquaTrax dealer to schedule an appointment to have the recall repair completed free of charge. The complete repair process may take approximately 4 to 5.5 hours, but your AquaTrax  may need to be at the dealer for a longer period of time. We recommend that you plan to leave your AquaTrax with the dealer for at least three days to allow the dealer flexibility in scheduling.

As we indicated in the initial recall notice, if you decide to ride your ARX1200 before having the recall repair conducted, despite the risks that may pose, you must remove the seat and look for signs of leaking fuel, as  described in the Is Your PWC Ready to Ride? - Pre-ride Inspection section of your Owner’s Manual. Also, please  perform this inspection after every ride. If you find that liquid fuel is leaking into the hull, do not ride your ARX1200;  instead, immediately make an appointment with your authorized Honda AquaTrax dealer to have the recall repair  completed and do not ride it until the repair is complete. If your ARX is in storage, please make sure that the fuel tank has been drained as directed in the Storing Your Honda section of your Owner’s Manual.
