Speed Up the Fight on Childhood Brain Tumors

Tonight Cycle World and Ride for Kids® will introduce the first of two project bikes at the San Mateo International Motorcycle Show. A drawing for both will benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation® (PBTF).

“The theme this year is, ‘Choose your weapon in the war on childhood brain tumors,’ and we will feature two very different Honda bikes,” says Ride for Kids® Director Kyle Clack. "We are really excited to have two creative powerhouses—Gregg DesJardins and Troy Lee—preparing our ‘weapons’ in the war on this devastating childhood disease.”
As in 2010-11, Gregg DesJardins will work his magic on a Honda sport bike, this time a CBR250R. The second bike is a Honda Ruckus which Troy Lee has given the utilitarian treatment.

“They are both something very special, which will give everyone a choice,” says Clack. “And both choices help fund the medical research and family support programs of the PBTF.”

You can see Lee’s Ruckus in the Ride for Kids® booth at San Mateo, and and DesJardins’ CBR250R will be unveiled in Long Beach, Calif., on Dec. 9-11.

American Honda donated both bikes for the drawing, and many other companies contributed parts and craftsmanship. Honda is also moving the bike to each city on the International Motorcycle Show circuit, produced by Advanstar

This is the 12th time that Cycle World and Ride for Kids® have teamed up for a motorcycle drawing. The program has raised over $612,000 for the PBTF to date.
The PBTF will draw two winners on May 7, 2012. Tickets will be available at all International Motorcycle Show stops. Visit motorcycleshows.com to find the show nearest you. Tickets are available online or by phone at 800-253-6530.
