Honda Powersports Racing - Motocross Schedule - AMA Motocross

Round 3 of the AMA Motocross season took place this weekend at the Freestone County Raceway in Wortham, Texas, where it was in the mid-90s and track conditions were pretty gnarly.

Local boy Andrew Short (Honda Red Bull Racing) was feeling quite at home, and it showed. In Moto One, he started off in third but finished in second.

In Moto One, Honda Red Bull Racing’s Ivan Tedesco was one of the top five finishers, coming in fourth.

In Moto Two of the women’s class, Ashley Fiolek finished first again, easily taking the overall for the day. Fiolek is undefeated this season, with three wins so far.

The high temperatures and rough track took a toll on GEICO Powersports Honda rider Dan Reardon. In Moto One Reardon finished twelfth. In Moto Two, though, he had a much better race, finishing fourth. His 12-4 score gave him sixth for the day.

In Moto Two, Honda Red Bull Racing’s Ivan Tedesco had a fall at the beginning of the race but charged his way into ninth by the end. His 4-9 score gave him fourth overall for the day at Freestone.

Honda Red Bull Racing rider Andrew Short, aboard his CRF450R, showed great performance this week and finished Moto Two in third place. His 2-3 performance gave him second overall for the day putting him in fourth place for the young season.

What a start: GEICO Powersports Honda rider Trey Canard grabbed the holeshot on his CRF250R and finished Moto One in third place.

GEICO Powersports Honda rider Brett Metcalfe started Moto One in third and ended in fourth. In Moto Two, he started in ninth but was able to move up two places and ended in seventh. His 4-7 overall score gave him fifth for the day.

GEICO Powersports Honda rider Blake Wharton started Moto One in sixth and then suffered a crash. He was still able to power through and finish seventh.

GEICO Powersports Honda rider Justin Barcia had a difficult time at Freestone County Raceway. His 35-26 performance gave him 31st for the day, but he continues to sit in 10th place overall for the season.

In Moto Two, Trey Canard was the top finisher, coming in second. With his 3-2 performance, Canard came in third overall at Freestone.

In Lites Moto Two, Blake Wharton had a much better race, starting and ending in third. His 7-3 performance gave him fourth overall.

Airtime: In the women’s division, it was Honda Red Bull Racing rider Ashley Fiolek aboard her CRF250R who won Moto One.
