Gibson Clinches 2009 Arenacross Championship
Consistent performance, seven consecutive podium finishes, six outright season victories and a Honda CRF450R were the winning combination that has given Jeff Gibson the 2009 AMA Arenacross championship.
Gibson clinched the title on March 20th, with one night remaining in the series. This is also the third straight title for the Tuf Honda team; three riders in three years, all on Honda’s CRF450R.
Hailing from Ohio, Gibson was awarded the title at the Bank of Kentucky Center in Highland Heights, Kentucky. On Friday night, Gibson got a great start in his race, and led the 25-lap main from start to finish.
"This is just awesome," said Gibson. "It's been a long season and I've been fortunate to have things work out for me. My bikes have been amazing all season and I couldn’t have accomplished this without the help of my Tuf Honda team. I'm proud to be an Arenacross champion and it's a pleasure to be part of such a fantastic series."
American Honda congratulates Jeff Gibson on his new title, and welcomes him to the growing family of Honda champions.
