The number seven machine, Joe Byrd, of Joe Byrd Racing got off to a solid start this weekend in the opening race of the AMA ATV Motocross Championships, finishing in the top 5 overall.

The number seven machine, Joe Byrd, of Joe Byrd Racing got off to a solid start this weekend in the opening race of the AMA ATV Motocross Championships, finishing in the top 5 overall.
Byrd ended up with a solid 4-5 in the two motos and looks poised to have another good year aboard his Honda TRX450R.
In Moto One, Joe got off to a solid start in the top five and stuck it out in a battle with Rookie Joel Hendrick beating him and narrowly missing the podium with a 4th place finish.
In Moto Two, Byrd got off to a midpack start and was locked in several great battles for positions. First with Chase Snapp then with Jeremy Lawson.
The whole group of racers ended up riding so hard and so fast, they would blow by race leaders later in the race.
After the big push as a group, Joe settled into his own race and pace and finished 5th in the second moto for his first points of the season.
