The Southwick MX National at Moto-X 338 in Southwick, MA, hosted round 10 of the 2011 AMA Motocross Championship this weekend. On their Honda CRF250R and CRF450R race machines, the Honda Red Riders overcame the adverse weather conditions caused by Hurricane Irene to score podium finishes, including winning two motos.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc., extends heartfelt congratulations to the many individuals - off-road riding enthusiasts, powersports industry members, consumer groups, legislators and more - who have extended relentless efforts to gain an exemption for youth Off-Highway Vehicles (OHVs) from the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) of 2008, known as the lead law. On August 12, 2011, H.R. 2715 became law, exempting youth OHVs from the restrictions of the CPSIA so that parents and children can once again enjoy motorized recreation as a family.

Jazz is considered an original American musical genre, and it is widely celebrated throughout the world today. But its roots are much more humble. In fact, its origins can be traced to the time of slavery in America when work songs were created in the form of “call and response.” Jazz as a music form emerged in the South during the early 1900s, and by that time it was greatly influenced by African dance and drumming, ragtime, brass marching bands and blues—which also arose in that region.
